Whether you used to be a Tory or a Dipper, or even Reform, you will be welcomed in the Liberal Party with open arms.
None of us have any great ideas or our own. The best ones always seem to come from someone else. You find them out by talking to people in your poll/area/riding/region. Even disadvantaged people are eloquent at letting you know what they need. If you can show them access to programs which already exist, you have made a friend for life, and a possible political volunteer come election time. Most of the problem is a lack of communication by the system to the people who need it. As an activist you can fill that gap.
We may not have any ideology worth talking about, but we have a huge list of contacts from all parties who will work to help make dreams come true for those who need it most.
Even when things are bad for the Party, there is still a lot of personal satisfaction gained from making things possible for people, just using the process, not the ideology.
If you are fed up of giving your power back to an autocratic leadership which does not appreciate you, perhaps you might think of switching. Liberals may be a lot of things, but they do appreciate you if you help.
It's not easy, but it works, one person at a time...

There is a place for you in the political sphere, and although someone may poke their head up and say some soothing words to get your support for their partisan interest, I feel most confident they are not doing so in good faith.
Where you can do the most to help steer the political debate to the right is exactly where you do it now...right here at FD. It is a force to be reckoned with..why else would it have brought on the ire of the usual suspects brandishing an edict of a non judical committee of appointees?
If you and your supporters did not have an effect on the body politic you would be politely ignored and disregarded, but you are not.
That tells me that you have an ideological home and it does not require membership in any political party.
Your efforts are appreciated by the people that matter, not the people that think they matter.
For that I say thankyou.
