I have a similar one on my patio - not near as detailed as that but similar. I get tons of compliments on it. Is it indoor/outdoor?

This fan is not damp rated due to the hand made rattan body and blades.

:)

It can accept many different light fixtures, and/or a remote control.

Is there a reserve bid, where is the bidding starting at?

It can accept many different light fixtures, and/or a remote control.

What does this mean Phi, would a person have to add the light, if so how?

Theresa,

Northern Fan has not put a reserve bid amount on the donation.

Monte Carlo (the manufacturer) has many different light fixtures available that will fit this fan easily as part of the assembly process. They start at $22.00 for a single globe, or it could be hung without a light.
A light and/or remote may be added at any time.

Go here to see some of the lighting choices.....

I need a fan and I would bid on this one, but does it have to be this color? My lights fixtures are a zinc copper color, leaning towards black. The ceiling fan would go in an open area where five fixtures are visible. I am concerned the Rattan look might stand out too much. Does it come in a different color, or is it exactly as shown?

I realize this is not catalogue shopping, I just want to ask. :)

This is the fan Northern Fan donated to the auction. :)

However, as a member of FD, you might find a special discount structure set up for you.

I could ask. :gossip:

Can someone explain to me how this works? Are we bidding silently? As in I need to email a bid to someone, or are we just yelling and screaming out bids until a certain amount of time has passed?

And what would be that time line if that's the way it is? I need to know so someone with paddles at the ready doesn't try to sneak in there and outbid me. :D

They way we did it before is we had everyone add their bids to the thread until activity died down. Then we gave everyone 24 hour 'going, going, gone', and we closed the auction.

If anyone has any ideas on how to fine-tune the process, we are certainly open to hearing them, though. :)

Sound's like a workable way to me.

I'll open the bidding with $50

I hate bidding against smart women. Somehow I always manage to lose even when I think I win....

Are we not having an auction at the FD coctail party? If the room has an internet connection, we could have continued on-line bids while we are auctioning the items off at the party.

So the bidding starts here, and ends at the party with live threads dedicated to each item, locked when the bidding is closed for that item.

Or, if we bring the old chat room back up, we could do live bidding that way.
