Seriously though, why do they focus on strippers? They should be crafting legislation to cover all work visas.

Because he generally doesn't like women making choices that he disapproves of which is kinda of weird when you consider the kind of ‘guy’ Kenny is...

You got it!!

That's the problem, silent around the Guest Worker Program in this case, they just hate women who like to show off their bodies, maybe Kenney is jealous?

If Canadians want to be strippers, then the industry should pay them the going rate rather than importing "cheap labour"

Should that apply to all employment opportunities or ONLY strippers? It's a bit rich for a guy who loves women as much as Kenny does to be spending this energy on female strippers. Do you think he feels the same way about male strippers...

I’m not sure that “moral taint” is a good enough reason to attack the market place…

Great. Now when we make our occasional trip to the lunchtime "ballet", we're going to be treated to the sight of women who look like Elizabeth May. Bring back free trade!

Banning foreign workers is not attacking the market place.

In this case, the foreign worker program still exists, it's only the hot strippers who are being attacked by this "man" Jason Kenney...

First, it is a damn good reason (do you have daughters and would you want them to be peelers?) and secondly, it is attacking and exception to the market. Why not bring in cheap foreign labour to do your job?

Strippers ready to go underground

Omnibus budget bill could spell doom
By Tom Godfrey, QMI Agency
Last Updated: June 16, 2012 5:02pm
TORONTO – Canada's foreign strippers say they are ready to step out of the spotlight and into the shadowy half-world of illicit employment.

They claim they will go underground if Bill C-38 becomes law and ends work permits allowing non-residents to work as strippers across the country.

The omnibus bill, now headed for its second reading in Parliament, will mean up to 700 strippers in Canada on work visas will have to return home since they won't be able to extend their stays. Either that, or they will seek illicit ways to earn a living, including resorting to massage parlour work.

Most of the dancers work at clubs in Toronto, Windsor, London, Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg and Calgary..................http://www.lfpress.com/news/canada/2012 ... 85806.html

Golly - here I thought that strip clubs employed only local girls working their way through colledge. I note that nothing is said about the several hundred women trafficked into Canada and forced to work underground as dancers and prostitutes.

These pimps and slavemasters of vulnerable women should be shot and pissed on, their carcasses thrown in a manure pile, and a few days later, their bare bones and toxic remnants should be trucked to the backwoods and dumped in the woods to bleach in the sun.

Federal foreign stripper policy slammed

Barring temporary foreign workers at strip joints rapped

By Ross Romaniuk ,Winnipeg Sun

First posted: Sunday, July 15, 2012 08:14 PM CDT | Updated: Sunday, July 15, 2012 08:49 PM CDTIt’s hard times for Winnipeg bars that feature exotic dancers, due to a new federal step taken for the sake of women’s safety.

That’s what an agent with a city entertainment firm says, charging that Ottawa is choking off foreign supplies of strippers to Canadian places where they perform.

Mitch Fillion of Superb Entertainment and co-owner of Solid Gold strip club, said Saturday that the federal Conservatives’ decision to bar temporary foreign workers from employment at Canadian strip joints, massage parlours and as escorts is an “absolutely ludicrous” and misguided position against human trafficking. He insists the move will bring few benefits while financially squeezing businesses.

“There is a shortage of exotic dancers, and there are exotic dancers available from other countries. But this prevents us from getting any,” Fillion, who calls himself “Mayor Mitch,” told the Winnipeg Sun after stating his case this week in a letter to Human Resources Minister Diane Finley.

“They are always attacking strip clubs as being bad for society, and bad for everything — which is a crock of s---. What’s so dangerous about a stripper?”

Finley and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney announced earlier this month that the feds will no longer process temporary work permit applications from foreigners seeking such employment, for the safety of the women involved..............http://www.winnipegsun.com/2012/07/15/p ... -ludicrous

Dancing girls have been around for a thousand years..Maybe Kenney should go check the work visas of some of the eastern European ballet dancers studying in Toronto..They can get real erotic also...It will harm the economy...what will Hells Angels do for pocket money...yah can't do that to our tough red neck culture...

Mitch, you don't want to pay well enough to attract local women to the business. If the stripping business is so wonderful why are you not overrun with immigrant women who are here legally? It's all about margins, Mitch, and you don't want to increase pay for your employees as that will cut into your share of the fee you charge clubs. I see you are into vertical integration and make even more money on the women who work in your club. You really are a marvellous piece of crap.

Not that I have ever done such a thing..but ask a stripper who much she is making that night..she might say 300 bucks...offer her 600 and she can and will take the night off.
