Apparently, if you don't support the Competition Bureau, you support child pornographers.

What exactly is Harper and Kenney up to that they need to further empower the Competition Bureau? With Harper you have a modern day Leninist and with Kenney a modern day Marxist. What happened to the conservative movement in Canada? We need a movement in place to act as a counter-balance.

Yeah, Harper is a modern day Lenin and Kennedy is a Marxist.

You just aren't looking at ths correctly. The Competition Bureau is concerned with the possible monopolization of the industry and the resulting exploitation of consumers through higher prices. Its really a consumer protecion bill.

I probably would not have expressed it that way but either answer his concern or STFU.

I predict that dictator Harper will shove this bill through before they rise for the summer just like he is doing with C-38. And, I would be utterly shocked is one single CPC MP had the spine to oppose it.

C-30 was a disaster when it was tabled. C-30 is stalled at first reading stage and is a huge embarrassment to Public Safety Minister Vic Toews. Despite rumours that Bill C-30 would be referred directly to a standing committee for review (and salvage) prior to second reading, that has not happened. Perhaps justice officials have correctly concluded that C-30 is not salvageable. There was a storm of protest when C-30 was introduced - a storm strong enough to stall the Bill. I do not trust Toews not to try again by moving C-30 forward or trying a replacement effort. We remain 'on watch' for developments on the warrantless snooping bill.
The most effective way to stifle democracy is to transfer decision-making from the public arena to unaccountable institutions: activist judges, human rights tribunals, parliamentary committees, civil service bureaucrats and political party hacks.
