Love Whittle as always but a couple things about the Air France demise puzzle me.
There was next to nothing left of the plane itself and the debris field was nearly 500 miles. Every body found was naked, which is going to happen when 300 people suddenly hurdling through the air at 600 mph are no longer within the confines of an aircraft. Buttons, clasps, stitching and zippers are not going to hold. All accounts were that this jet "broke apart" at 40,000 feet at 600 mph from where it vanished from radar almost instantly.
I believe the more recent reports are intended to shield AirBus and the Euro aircraft industry. A jet crashing in the ocean does not have a debris field of 500 miles whereas is might if raining down from 40,000 feet at 600 mph for 10 minutes or more. If my flight goes into the water I'm more than likely going to still have my cloths on and my watch on my wrist.
