My personal experience is that easy fixes are quick and complicated cases are drwn out and often not properly addressed. I've seen several cases where people close to me have been let down and not diagnosed until way late in illness. Early detection od cancer is an American thing, it doesn't reflect Canadian values.
Anyone lauding the virtues of our health care over American is full of crap. It's common for people here to take up collections to help pay for the sick to go to the US for diagnosis, I personally know 3 people who did it and know of several others I don't knwo well who have as well. And this doesn't include our politicians who've also partaken.

In Montreal it takes from two weeks to two months to see your family doctor. It takes from two to six months to see a specialist. You can get X-ray and ultrasound within a week, but for an RMI scan you have to wait at least six month.
