Moving fun

Postby lethbridge_east » 08/ 27/ 03 5:58 am

Well I am finally moving back to Canada in 3 weeks so I will finally be in a reasonable timezone with ya'll.

So if I go silent about the 15th of September or just before that is because I have sold the computer!!

Now we just have to sell everything we own once again... and take 12 suitcases and 6 individuals (2 adults and 4 kids) across the sea.

Another little strange oddity is that the cheapest flight goes like this...

Tue 16-Sep-03

London (LGW) Depart 12:00 Terminal S to Houston (IAH) Arrive 16:15

Terminal D 4842 mi (7792 km)
Duration: 10hr 15mn
Continental
Flight: 5

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Economy/Coach Class (Seat assignments upon check-in), Lunch, Boeing 777

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Houston (IAH) Depart 20:48 Terminal C to Calgary (YYC) Arrive 23:53 1759 mi (2831 km)
Duration: 4hr 5mn
Continental
Flight: 1980

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Total miles: 6601 mi (10623 km)
Total duration: 14hr 20mn (18hr 53mn with connections)

Just a small journey  ;)

As one who has moved a few dozen times, please accept my best wishes amd my commiserations.

Strange flight plan. That's the cheapest way to go? Seems like just about the longest way to go!

Who are you flying with? If it is AC, make sure you get insurance that will cover the airline vanishing into the annals of history.

We moved across town last year with only two kids and that was bad enough. I don't envy you your move!

Welcome back then, LE. Glad you are flying with a decent airline. Too bad you couldn't fly with British Airways. Definately the best for the Atlantic runs.

When you hit cowtown, let me know. Breakfast will be on me (not literally).

Ahhhhh...... Alberta bound. Me too.
