I guess I read something wrong. I thought only the thread starter could "kick" someone but that anyone could "unkick" them.

It makes a moderator of sorts for that thread, out of the thread starter. For most here that is no problem, but for some, well, I guess we'll see.

Your work and efforts are appreciated Connie. Always!! It's a great tool but not everyone will make use of it like a moderator would. The selected moderators here do a great job. I know I have frustrated some but they have never overstepped their authority. I appreciate their patience and good judgement to let things play out as they will.

The kicker hack gives FDers (and not just moderators) something that they can do to police their own forum. Admin will have the last call, and can unkick (or kick) anyone from any thread for any reason, and nobody can override their decision. Kicking privileges can also be taken away from any member who abuses it.

It seems to us like a harmless tool because no content is lost, everyone can read everything, and admin can reverse anything that is done unfairly.

If it doesn't work it can easily be shut off, but I have faith in the maturity of our membership. I don't think you need a bunch of babysitters banning, deleting and locking if you have the tools to police yourselves most of the time.

Maybe I'm naive, but we'll find out soon enough.

I am wondering if it is possible to get the DIGG link turned off in my own viewing choices?

I just don't like that feature... It screams Big Google is watching you and it creeps me out!!!
