INTERIM SITE TRASITION TALK AND TEST THREAD

After several hours of cleaning up threads by removing duplicate posts and adding some comments, it appears that the basic forum system is functioning, but throws up unexpected and disconcerting error messages.

When you post:

First, cut and past the text of your post to a text program (Word, WordPad, Notepad or similar) to save if your attempt fails.

Next, if you get an error message, click on 'go back' TWICE to bring you back to the thread as it was prior to your posting attempt. Click on 'refresh'. See if your post appears. If not, try again.

As an alternative, when you get an error message, go to the Active Topics page, and re-access the thread you posted to. See if your post has been added. If not try again.

By checking before reposting you will avoid duplications.

If you want to test the system, please use this thread rather than an issue thread to avoid cluttering up other threads with 'test' posts.

Please post difficulties you encounter here so our techs have one place to look for bugs to fix.

We will erase this thread when the site bugs have been removed.
