I'm kinda poor right now. Been kinda rich by local standards. Done both several times- you get by. Some of the happiest times "we" had in both marriages was when we were poor- we made a game out of it. Laughed our way out of the Dollar Store- "Look at all the stuff we got for $15!"

Most *poor* Americans live better than most middle-class Canadians (for example, they have carpets and air conditioning, and we do not). In fact, poor people in Atlanta often live in welfare housing that has tennis courts and golf driving ranges. Most of them are also about 100 lb. overweight.
Daddy always said we were not Poor -- we were broke; Poor was forever and broke just meant you didn't have money right now.
