TORONTO - They launched with great fanfare, vowing to deliver a viewing experience no other Canadian broadcaster dared to put on the air.

Yet exactly a year after it went live, media observers and viewership figures suggest Sun News Network, which promised 'hard news and straight talk,' is lagging behind its competitors.

Data obtained by The Canadian Press from a source at another network and confirmed by independent ratings agency BBM Canada, shows Sun News trailing the pack when "all day" English audience figures — calculated between 2 a.m. and 2 a.m. — were compared for news networks between Aug. 31, 2011 and March 31, 2012.

CBC News Network drew 1.4 per cent of viewers, U.S. news network CNN took 0.9 per cent, CTV News Channel attracted 0.8 per cent and Sun News brought in 0.1 per cent.

In order to have Sun News you have to pay for it where as the CBC CTV and CNN for the most part come with your basic package. That's why none of these numbers surprise me

Bingo. Let CBC, CTV, and CNN go that route as well and see how their numbers look.

It seems it reaches well to the choir - if you look at the polls at the website, most people vote conservatively on them. For instance, 96% think Omar Khadr needs to not come to Canada.

That is great - that we finally have OUR network, but Sun News has to somehow reach the unwashed masses. They will never get the hard core leftists. I mean those with very little opinion or who let others decide issues for them. Those that are more concerned about hockey scores and couldn't tell you the name of the party now leading Canada.

Recently, the SCC decided not to hear an allegation of libel brought by arch-fiend Ian Verner Macdonald against fiend of the court Warren Kinsella and the CBC.
The litigation revolved around:

Section 5(1) of the Ontario Libel and Slander Act [which] says a plaintiff must provide notice to a defendant, in writing, within six weeks after an alleged libel has come to his or her attention.

Better get this started before the six weeks is up...

What I find odd is that leftists act like being a racist is the worst sin in the world. I would surely consider being a terrorist, rapist, child abuser, drug dealer, human trafficker, pedo enabler/practitioner, murderer, etc a lot worse than being a racist. Of course we do not see the left condemning any racism by other races.

The same left that condemns racism are hypocrites for their support of affirmative action which is bigotry against Caucasians. In fact, besides being racists themselves, they generally are prejudiced against the basic right to life of innocent babies. Incidentally, they should alos realize that nazis are socialists...national socialist party has more in common with the left than with anyone else.

Thus they accuse others of what they themselves are guilty of.
